PRESSEMELDING FRA RED BULL JR TEAM
62 Dennis Hauger (NOR – Van Amersfoort Racing Tatuus F.4 T014 Abarth)
ADAC F4 Championship position: 10th – 15 points after 3 of 21 races
#23 Jonny Edgar (GBR – Jenzer Motorsport Tatuus F.4 T014 Abarth)
First of selected ADAC F4 Championship outings
After two soaking wet events in the Italian F4 championship, Red Bull Juniors Dennis Hauger and Jonny Edgar are north of the Alps this weekend for round two of the ADAC F4 series. They are looking for sunshine and success at the Red Bull Ring.
Hauger, the 16-year-old Norwegian, is expecting to bounce back after the frustrations of Oschersleben when penalties incurred in Qualifying left him back in the grid for the opening weekend of the season. For 15-year-old Briton Edgar it is the first of selected ADAC outings this season.
Hauger ready to go
“We had a very good test there last week and I really enjoyed the track,” enthused the Van Amersfoort Racing driver. “It does not look as though it is that technical but when it comes down to it you find that every corner is different, requires different techniques so you really have to work on it. Especially the last sector and that is so important coming into the fast home straight.»
“The team did a fantastic job and we did a lot of work so I feel there are just some details we can improve on in practice this weekend. We’ve got to do a really good job because we are a bit down on points after the bad luck of the opening round so we’ll be working hard.”
“Of course qualifying will be important but I think that there are passing opportunities at the Red Bull Ring, a number of straights and you have a chance to overtake.”
Edgar ready to take on the ADAC
“It’s my first race in the German championship but in fact most of the drivers in the Italian championship also do the ADAC, at least the ones at the front,” explained the Jenzer Motorsport driver.
“So it will be a lot of the same competition. That’s good and I am hoping for a dry weekend because we’ve had a lot of rain so far and I really want to see how things are over a dry weekend after having so much rain at Vallelunga and Misano.”
“We have tested here a couple of times and I really like the track, my favourite section is the two left handers, great fun. I think we have the car pretty well sorted out but you never really know until you get into the race weekend and find out what the others can actually do.”
