Swedish team JC Raceteknik and Norwegian star Ole Christian Veiby will return to one of the move revered motor sport events on the calendar this October – Rally Legend in San Marino.
Rally and rallycross driver Veiby drove a rally-adapted 600 BHP S1 rallycross Supercar in the event last year and will return for 2023 to drive in the rally on October 12-15.
The tarmac rally is a favourite among fans from around the world and attracts a wide range of top name drivers and legendary machinery, performing in challenging day and night stages.
A successful driver in the World Rally Championship’s WRC2 category, the FIA World Rallycross Championship and RallyX Nordic (with JC in an Audi S1), Veiby has good experience of tarmac rally stages, and the EKS-built S1 machine.
JC Raceteknik will run two Audi S1 Supercars in the event, and will announce further news about plans in due course.
Joel Christoffersson, JC Raceteknik Team Principal:
“As a team we love going to Rally Legend, so it is not a hard decision to make when we start discussing possibilities. We have been a few times now – the atmosphere is incredible and turning a rallycross Supercar into a rally car you can actually drive on the road is the sort of thing that immediately makes you smile. OC put on a brilliant show last year and we look forward to more sideways and fast action at the event this time round.”
Ole Christian Veiby (NOR):
“It’s awesome to be going back to Rally Legend, we had so much fun last year. We are not timed, we are not competing in the competition, we are there to make a good show and I think last year they loved the show that both me and PG Andersson put on in the Audis. That weekend last year was probably the most fun I’ve ever had in a weekend doing some racing. We’re just going to put on some slides! It will be really cool to go back in the same car – this year we know what we are aiming for, what we’re going into so I think we’re going to put on an even bigger show. We know better what tyres to use and things like that, so it’s going to be mega fun. There are so many cool cars, good drivers and really a lot of spectators at Rally Legend. The stages are fantastic, it’s a cool event and I’m really looking forward to it.” |
