BRASELTON, Georgia (May 7, 2026) — Papadakis Racing heads east this week for Round 2 of the 2026 Formula Drift season at Road Atlanta, where drivers Fredric Aasbo and Ryan Tuerck are set to compete on what both consider their favorite track on the calendar.

The Georgia circuit is one of the most distinctive stops in Formula Drift, combining high commitment, elevation change and close-quarters tandem. The course rewards confidence and precision on a technical layout that leaves little room for error.

“Atlanta is the track I look forward to most every year,” said Aasbo. “It’s fast, technical and aggressive, and the fans there are incredible. Starting the season with a podium in Long Beach was important for the team, and now we want to keep building momentum.”

Aasbo enters Round 2 as a podium favorite after finishing second at Road Atlanta last season. He is also coming off a second-place result at the season-opening Long Beach round, where he put the Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra on the podium to launch Papadakis Racing’s 2026 campaign.

Tuerck returns in the Rain-X Toyota GR Corolla after showing winning potential at the Long Beach. He is looking to convert that early-season form into a strong result on his favorite track.

“Road Atlanta is always the one circled on my calendar,” said Tuerck. “Everything about it feels big: the speed, the layout, the atmosphere and the fans. We had a really solid start as a team in Long Beach, so everyone’s excited to get back on track this weekend.”

Both Aasbo and Tuerck compete in Papadakis-built Toyota drift cars riding on Kenda tires, continuing a partnership that has helped deliver multiple podiums and championship success for the team.

The Road Atlanta weekend expands the event footprint through Formula Drift’s continued collaboration with the Gridlife music and motorsport festival. The 2026 event promises a full motorsports weekend built around tandem battles, track action, paddock access and the festival atmosphere that has helped make Road Atlanta one of the signature stops on the Formula Drift calendar.

Formula Drift Pro competition at Road Atlanta begins Friday with qualifying, before tandem competition Saturday night. Fans can follow Papadakis Racing across social media throughout the weekend for behind-the-scenes content, battle coverage and event updates from one of the most exciting rounds of the season.

Fans can tune in to livestreamed coverage at FormulaD.com/live, with PROSPEC and early PRO competition streaming free on YouTube before Top 16 coverage moves to RACER+.

Drifting is a high-skill, high-powered motorsport with an emphasis on car control. In the Formula Drift series, drivers compete in knockout heats on a closed course, sliding sideways in trials judged on speed and style. With origins in Japan, the sport has rapidly grown to one of the most popular youth-oriented motorsports in the world. Here in the United States, Formula Drift officially launched in 2004 and its national schedule of eight events routinely host capacity crowds, while live-streamed multi-platform broadcasts attract millions of online viewers
