Julie Nataas and her Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) Oslo Tapet & Gulvbelegg (OTG) Top Alcohol Dragster team return to the national stage for this weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park.
Nataas is coming off two wins in regional events in her Top Alcohol Dragster. She picked up her third victory of the season on May 22nd at the Dallas Regionals at Texas Motorplex and her fourth just over two weeks ago on June 4th at Summit Motorsports Park putting her career total at 28 wins.
Nataas opened her season by sweeping the regional and national events at Gainesville Raceway. The stellar performance has put Nataas in the TopAlcohol Dragster Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series points lead by 85.
“It feels like forever since the last time we raced a national event. We have had a little vacation and added a couple regional wins since last time, so I’m excited to continue the win streak in Norwalk,” Nataas said. “I have never won this national event before and I’d really like to add the ice cream scoop to my collection. I’m hoping for another double up this weekend.”
“We always celebrating with ice cream when we’re No. 1 qualifiers. It’s a tradition I’ve carried over from when my dad was racing,” Nataas continued. “Norwalk and the famous ice cream scoop trophy go well with that tradition.”
Competition in Top Alcohol Dragster at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park begins with qualifying Friday at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Eliminations are slated to begin Saturday at 11:15 a.m. and continue Sunday at 12:50 p.m. with semifinals at 2:35 and finals at 3:20 p.m.
